AFTER THE WAR

After the war, John E. Schroeder spent time in the hospital. The doctors told him that he had lost all of one lung and half of the other one from being gassed in Gas Hollow in France.

They also told him he only had about 6 months to live. While in his hospital bed, the man next to him told him about treatments he had received from a B. J. Palmer who was a Chiropractor in Davenport, Iowa. It sounded like it would be worth the chance. What did he have to lose? He went to a chiractor and "was cured!!" After that, he decided to become a chiropractor. After completing his studies, he became a charter Chiropractor in the State of Missouri.

In 1923, John E Schroeder married Miss Kathryn Bickel of Lincoln Co., Missouri. They had one son, Victor John Schroeder.
